We are a news and current affairs programme that is broadcast seven days a week through the GMT night and into the GMT morning. We reach millions of listeners around the world, helping them answer two questions in particular: what has happened overnight and what does the new day bring? The team see news as a broad canvas - and it is our job to work through the night at Bush House to bring you a variety of stories and voices, telling you what has happened in a lively, engaging and digestible manner. Highlights of the three World Today editions are also available in the form of World Today Select - a 15 minute audio compilation which can be heard on the Asia Pacific schedule as well as a number of partner stations around the world. The team also put together the Global News Podcast - a download of the best of World Service news, sent to you twice a day. You can also listen back to editions of the past seven days of the programme by selecting The World Today on the BBC World Service channel on the BBC iPlayer.
